Great ViewThe room was a good price. Had top floor with a great view of the water. Lots of free parking and close to downtown.Rating:2
Dont want to go back! The first room I was in sounded like there was absolutely NO insulation between the walls. There was a couple with a child in the room adjacent to mine. I could hear them so well I thought they were in my room! I requested that the months of dust behind my bed be vacuumed, to no avail I requested a room change, which they agreed to. I could feel the wind coming through the windows. I heard traffic from the expressway all night long. The hotel restaurant was good! Nice selection and very reasonable prices. Rooms have sleep number beds!
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksThe hotel provides a shuttle to downtown Providence. It cost $5 for unlimited rides back and forth, good value!Rating:3
Well kept but too close to highwayClean & well kept structure but a bit outside the downtown. Nice park across the street. Unfortunately, abuts a major highway whose noise pentrated my room (which faced highway) 24 hours a day. The front desk staff was not knowledgeable about the area and could not give directions to major sites. The shuttle is clean & drivers friendly, but runs only hourly - half hourly is really needed given the remote location of the hotel.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayMake sure you request a room facing the harbor -- better sights & less noiseRating:4
Very comfortable setting just off College HillHave stayed here several times. Very quiet location, facing the harbor, off of College Hill, as opposed to downtown. Immaculate rooms with nice linens, good service.Rating:4
Good ValueRooms were satisfactory -- clean and nice. Location is good as it is only about a five minute drive to Brown University.Rating:5
Church BusinessWe will be using this hotel for now on to accommodate our church guest when we have events. Thank you for setting things up for us. I even had a problem setting up a room through Expedia and the hotel was very professional and quick to respond to the problem. Thank you Expedia and the Radisson Hotel.Rating:2
Great deal, not so great times...i dont like to bash any business, but this scenario was insane. it was over 90 degrees that weekend, and all of the air conditioners in the hallways were unplugged so when you exit your room, you are emerged in HOT. there was only one working elevator, and in one i spoke with another guest who informed me not to leave valuables in our car because hers was jacked the previous night. apparently, this sort of thing was very common at this hotel. not a huge disaster, but next time i will spend the extra $15 bucks and stay at the marriott!Rating:4
A Good ChoiceGood accomidations. Nice view to the harbor and park. Good access to both. Although not in the immediate downtown, the walk to the conference center was a short 25 minutes, or the shuttle ride was 7 or 8 minutes. The proximity to the downtown with shops and restaurants a plus. The two universities gave life to the community.Rating:5
Dont miss the Breakfast BuffetI was very pleasantly surprised with a one night stay. The view to the harbor was amazing! The staff was genuinely friendly. The breakfast buffet was nicely prepared and presented. A value for money price, fresh ingredients and a fun waitress made breakfast the bargain of our vacation.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayTake a short walk to Brown University and stroll the historic campus.Rating:5
good deal, good locationThis hotel was great - the room and bed were really comfortable, we got a waterfront view, which I loved, and it was easy to walk to nearby Wickenden street and even further since Providence is so small. The waterfront park out front is great too. Would definitely stay here again.Rating:2
Not impressed - wet carpets leaking air conditionerNoisy, air conditioner not working to capacity and leaks onto carpet in room. Not enough towels, toiletries, etc. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but was only discounted. I didnt appreciate finding hair in my eggs. I asked for a bill/invoice upon checkout since they held my credit card and they refused stating I should check my email. Other hotels will place an invoice under your door so you have it upon waking the day of checkout. Staff seemed unhappy and non-chalant. There are much better places to stay in and around Providence.

Great locationThe front of the hotel has a beautiful view of the harbor and park across the street. It is close to the expressway ramp and very easy to get around the city. The employees were very helpful about what was going on in the area and how to get there. The beds were awesome!Rating:2
Not impressedThe location is out of the way. Nice park across the way but youre in an industrial area. Had to move rooms because the air conditioner was making a banging noise and both elevators were down for a day, luckily I was on the third floor and not the sixth. The in house food was not that great either
Travelers tip for business travelersStay in the heart of the city and not in this hotelRating:4
Confy quiet hotel if you are on the right side. The first room assined was on highway side which was pretty noisy. The clerk was nice enough to change to the other side after I claimed. That side had partial view of harbor and it was quiet. Room service ended pretty early and there no restaurant nearby that is open. Shuttle service was very convenient. I was satisfied with overall service.Rating:3
Nice Hotel for a 1 night stayWe chose this hotel because it was on the Harbour. It is, but you must specify that you want a room overlooking it. If not, youll have a room with a view of the highway which is extremely noisy. Our first room was just that. Also, it was a non-smoking room, but it reaked of stale smoke. After speaking with the manager, he immediately changed our room. The second room still had a stale smoke smell. On the up side, there was a convenient shuttle van that took us into the city and picked us up when we called. The restaurant/bar staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good, but dinner was mediocre. If you do stay at this hotel, go to the park across the street. A nice place for a picnic, a walk, or a bike ride.
Travelers tip on local attractionsThe city of Providence is really nice. You really only need a day to see the city. The big attraction are the nice they have the fire on the river. Its really beautiful to see. We took the Gondola ride which was very romantic. We highly recommend it. Comment from the hotels management Posted: 30-Jul-09 I would like to thank you for your feedback and response. It is very beneficial for the hotel to see comments regarding your experience as it allows us the opportunity to improve the product and service for all customers. In response, I would like to let you know that we are currently involved in a process to convert all guest rooms to non smoking. This should be completed by September of 2009. Thank you again for your feedback. Hotel Management, General ManagerRating:4
closest hotel to Brown 3 starask for bay view; pleasant hotel, nice beds and linens; rooms are a little small
Travelers tip on local attractionsyou can walk to Brown Univ., though it is uphill; there are some cute cafes and restaurants a couple of blocks away; a park along the water at India Point is right outside the hotelRating:4
we had a lovely room overlooking the waterThe room was very nice, shower was good, and the staff very helpful.Rating:3
Good locationWe discovered the bathroom floor covered with water shortly after arrival. We cleaned it up and it never returned -- dont know what caused it. The elevator didnt work a good portion of our visit. Food was greasy and barely edible. The location is good, but upkeep of the hotel is lacking. Ive stayed there several times before and this was the first time things were not up to par. Comment from the hotels management Posted: 30-Jul-09 I would like to thank you for your response and assure you that we were aware of the problems experienced with the elevator and have worked closely with Otis elevator to correct this issue. We also have shared the food and beverage experience with our staff and are focused on consistently delivering a solid food and beverage experience. Thank you again for taking time to share your experience. Hotel Management, General ManagerRating:2
try a different hotelDont go for the sleep number beds they lose air. we had 3 people in the room and had to ask for extra towels and washcloth and never got them. Did not spend much time in room. construction outside started at 7:00am everyday.Rating:4
hotel reviewSheets and towels were stained and yellow. Overall look of hotel was run down.Rating:2
Not Customer Service oriented!I had stayed at this hotel before, and even though it wasnt great, the free unlimited shuttle service in the immediate area was excellent, so I booked it again. This time, the shuttle service wasnt free, $5 per person per day, plus tips for the driver. Then hotel staff said it would only run on the hour. Luckily the driver was extremely nice, and took us out without the charge and whenever we asked. We also had problems with noise from functions below our room, that had loud music until 11pm two nights. I wish we were warned about that, or had the option to change our room. Lastly, the front desk staff was horrible, very unfriendly, unhelpful and in some case inaccessible. We tried to tentatively book for an additional night, because of a flight problem and the front desk staff was rude and seemed annoyed that we wanted to add a night. I will not book here again, I would rather pay the same or a little more and not have the diminished shuttle service, and have an attentive, helpful front desk staff.Rating:5
Very NiceEveryone at the hotel was very helpful and nice. The room was comfortable and clean. The shuttle service to downtown was very convenient.Rating:5
Visit to Brown UniversityClean and comfortable. Nice location.
Travelers tip on local attractionsExcellent location for visiting Brown University.Rating:3
Comfortable and reasonably pricedThe Radisson is a comfortable, moderately-priced hotel. While not luxurious, the rooms are clean and nicely furnished and the staff is pleasant and helpful. I particularly liked the self-parking with both outside and covered parking, as I dont like the cost and delay of valet parking. If you are visiting Brown during Waterfire, the location is particularly good as you dont have to fight the crowds to get back to your hotel on the other side of the river. The downside to the location is that it is a semi-industrial area that is not amenable to walking, and the highway noise is quite loud (at least it was on the side next to the highway). If I hadnt been exhausted, it would have been difficult to get to sleep.Rating:3
... And in some ways, they tried hard...This past weekend I had to go to RI. When we got there, the two people at the desk were not welcoming. Even a warm smile would have been nice, but no. The room was narrow but no big deal. I was happy to see the king sized number bed, I thought. Our bed was not operating right, it lost air the whole night and by morning my back and hips were killing me from the rock hard flattness of the bed without any air in it. I am only 35 so it is NOT old age. I slept terribly. We even tried refilling it but it didnt seem to want to really keep air in it on either side. I almost got up to sleep in the chair. In addition to the bed malfunction (which does happen I notice two burn holes in the coverlet and a splotch on the bedskirt that looked biological. We also happened to have a room on the highway side which was loud but I cant really blame the hotel for that. Also, they knew 2 people were staying there yet they only provided 1 wash cloth and very limited regular towels. Sunday morning we packed up to leave and I did go to the front desk. Apparently there had been some issue over night with a party on another floor. The desk was busy but the manager sympathized with me. She said I could have a free breakfast or I could go through Expedia to get credit. She was very nice but overloaded by other customers that were ranting. Not a bad place but I will NEVER get a sleep number bed and I will also be mindful of highway sided rooms next time. Lets hope the credit that comes back is decent.
Travelers tip on nightlifeThere are a LOT of dance clubs and bars not too far from this hotel and if we didnt already have a wedding to attend we would have had a ball I am sure.
