Very good hotelVery good hotel, excelent breakfast, super-polite staff, restaurants around, shopping around, van service, we were very well impressed.Rating:5
Good airport hotelAll excellent, very helpful staff. Got early eck in and even free breakfast the first day.Rating:5
very nicestaff was extremely helpful and very friendly. they went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok. everything was perfect.Rating:4
Value for PriceIt is indeed a value for the price you pay. You get all the comfort you are looking for as I got. Also it comes with continental breakfast which is cherry on cake. You have jakuzi for relaxation. Good to stay with family.Rating:4
Comfortable, updated decor and friendly.Nice interior, extras of the room met expectations. Quiet and great customer service. Whirlpool was small fitting about 5 people and the exercise room consisted of 4 machines. The wifi given for us to use went in and out and didnt connect all the time. Otherwise it was a great get away place close to the CTA train station into town.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksClose to CTA station, saves a lot to get to downtown chicago with roughly a 1/2 hour train ride. Saved a lot of money for a hotel that was only a short distance from downtown.Rating:4
Great valueNothing fancy, but very clean and the included breakfast is much better than most!Rating:3
Just OKI booked the no-smoking double beds room because none of us smoke and we have a child. When we checked in, the front desk gave us a smoking room. The double beds are too small. The breakfast is great. The room is clean and convenient.Rating:4
Good place but far from the LoopFrom lobby to Mag Mile was 1 hour 45 minutes, with no traffic, using the fastest public transit available, including the hotel van ($1/tip), Metra train ($4) and water taxi ($2). Staff, knowing theyre far from anything (a long way even from the airport which is socked with more clumped up traffic than LAX), will ferry guests to the Metra or drug/big box stores and restaurants from 6am to 10pm. And reluctantly, to OHare to catch the subway system (Blue Line). Breakfast: Fruit, yogurt, cereals & mini-muffins. A waffle station, a selection of condiments attending a large rice-cooker and cold, hard-boiled, peeled eggs. Juices too. Well maintained. While a spot here or there might be missed, the place is clean and comfortable. The room, divided into front room and bed area, was nice and the fridge wasnt jammed with the usual honor-bar junk no one wants to pay double for - thats good! The bath was basic but good & beyond was a mini-microwave and the coffee maker and supplies (there are tiny cups of 1/2&1/2 in the lobby so you dont have to use the packet of "whitener"). Theres internet connection/computer in the lobby... but it is painfully slow. Try to keep it to less than 10 minutes! No grounds at all & the whirlpool/hot tub is small but serviceable. It is in a small room by the lobby secured with key/card. The chlorine smell is thick! Plenty of towels & privacy - as no one seemed interested during my stay. Fitness room is upstairs - but also normally empty.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayUsing the hotel van to get to the mass transit takes extra time and may involve a wait... but renting a car and trying to drive in to downtown is going to be MUCH slower and PARKING STARTS AROUND $20 and goes up steeply from there! If you must have a car... youll save yourself time and money if you drop it at a subway park-and-ride lot as far from the loop as you can stand and ride the rail for the rest of it. A car is a detriment in the city and mandatory in the burbs.Rating:5
Really good hotelOur room was not exactly what we asked for, but the bed was very comfortable. We had to use a pull-out sofa, and even that mattress was comfortable - not at all as I had expected. The hotel furnished printed directions to major attractions - another plus. I have already recommended this hotel to friends - we were very satisfied!Rating:5
very comfortable hoteli was in the area for the american legion state tournament..the hotel staff were all interested in how my team was doing..i thought that was a very nice addition to their already very good service
Travelers tip on diningthere is an excellent resturant/bar right next door..i used it on three occasions...Rating:5
Lovely stay!!! ヾ(〃^0^)ﾉI arrived to the airport close to 11:00p when the complimentary shuttle service ends, but the hotel staff and driver was extremely helpful and accomodating and picked me up last minute. The hotel room was pretty big for the low price, and even came with a fridge and a microwave. Jameson Suites serves complimentary breakfast from 7:00a-9:00a which had a variety of breakfast food from cereal to biscuits and gravy, and a waffle maker! There was also a Japanese breafast with rice w/furikake and miso soup, but there was only boiled eggs to go with the rice. (So if youre Japanese or Asian, Id suggest buying an entree at Mitsuwa which is only two buildings away.) I had a wonderful stay at Jameson Suites, and wouldnt think twice about staying there again the next time I visit Chicago!
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayI thought Chicago would be more like New York in terms of accessibility, but it really wasnt. I took me a good 2 hours to get from Ohare to Downtown Chicago on the train which cut in to the amount of time I spent sightseeing since I had an extremely short stay.Rating:4
Comfortable RoomVery Clean, courteous staff, good locationRating:5
No commentVery nice Hotel, just wish that the swimming pool was at the hotel. Me and my group did not like the idea of driving to another facility.Rating:5
Convenient and a BargainI have stayed at this hotel several times when visiting family. There are other hotels nearby, most of them more expensive, some a bit cheaper. None of them offered the same level of amenities for the price: free airport and neighborhood shuttle, free wireless, breakfast. This was invaluable during my recent trip for a funeral. A number of family members were staying there and they were great about getting us in rooms near each other and driving us to the funeral home, etc. The rooms are not lighted well, but thats my only complaintRating:3
Good LocationOverall, we were pleased with the room for its price. Not a lot of extras, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were there for a jazz festival and it was in a great location. Not far from Woodfield Mall and many restaurants nearby. One problem we had was with the cable connection. It seemed to be loose, so every now and then we would completely lose the signal. But we didnt have a lot of time to watch TV so we never complained to the front desk.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayBring your own toiletries. They dont provide much of the extras. Also, I didnt see the usual pen and notepad that you find in most hotels.Rating:4
Had a good timeIt was a nice place to stay not very far away from either downtown or airport. Was clean and priced competitively.Rating:2
Didnt like itFor the price the hotel was not very nice. It was dirty, breakfast was horrible and the whole place stinks. There was nobody at breakfast to help, refill or keep it clean. The hair dryer in my room was taped to stay in one piece. Overall not very satisfied, I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
Travelers tip on diningExcellent seafood restaurant near the hotel called Pappadeaux. Little spendy but worth it.Rating:3
Not what we expectedA hotel that advertises its rooms as "kitchenette suites" should provide more than a microwave oven. We expected a small refrigerator to store perishables. The hotel advertised the room as a "kitchenette suite." We expected a small refrigerator as well as the microwave oven, which was all we found in the room.Rating:5
Jameson Suites a good place to stayI found the Jameson to be clean well run and comfortable. IT was reasonably priced as well. as it is right off the interstate it was also convenient.Rating:5
Handy for our purposesNot really a place youd want to stay if you wanted the action and excitement of Chicago close at hand, but it was a nice, affordable, comfortable home base during our apartment hunt. There was even a mini-kitchen with plates and silverware!Rating:4
Cant beat the value!I was very pleased with the hotel overall, especially for the cost. The room was clean, and the bed was as good as any in hotels costing 3-4 times as much. Breakfast buffet was just OK, but adequate. Decent restaurants nearby.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayIf youre going to the NW suburbs, and cost is a consideration, it would be hard to beat!Rating:3
I would rather spend a bit more to get a better hotelPlease dont get me wrong. The hotel is really not THAT BAD, but I wouldnt say its a good deal for the amt of $ I paid for it. The room smells really weird like cat peepee. Not sure if just the one we stayed in smells like this or all the rooms do. The suite is small, they basically added a wall between the bed and sofa and call that a suite. maintanence service is fast though, our fridge was melting ice and we had it replaced within an hour. Location is ok but be VERY CAREFUL with toll road. Its right next to the highway so you would think its fast to just jump on it but you have to pay toll so watch out. I have no problem with the noise from the traffic outside. I would just say this is not the worst hotel but if you can spending $ to go on vacation, you should really pay a little extra for a nicer place to stay!Rating:5
Great place to lay your headWe had a great stay. Room was well laid out. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. Great restraunts in the area. The only downside was the toilet had a leak but we let the hotel staff know and it was taken care of by the time we returned that evening.
Travelers tip on diningExcellent Greek restraunt within walking distanceRating:5
Quiet and CleanI found exactly what I wanted in this hotel. The staff was nice and the room was clean. My girlfriend and I had a king non smoking room. Though the layout of the room is somewhat... odd, it was comfortable. The staff was pleasant and left us alone (meaning there wasnt staff knocking at our door every hour like at the last hotel we were at). Its a bit of a distance from where I needed to be but its definitely a good hotel. I would stay there again.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayCatch the breakfast bar.Rating:4
Good ValueWe enjoyed our stay at Jameson Suites. It was comfortable and quiet. Just to clear up the pool issue, there is no swimming pool, just a whirlpool in a small room. Different sites had conflicting information on this. The breakfast is great and a nice money-saver. Wed definitely stay again.
Travelers tip on local attractionsWe loved the Museum of Science and Industry and ended up spending an entire day there. Its worth it to buy the membership for a family as its less expensive than paying for each exhibit and parking. Seeing "Wicked" was the highlight of our trip. Six Flags was my sons favorite and they had some amazing rollercoasters.
