Not bad for the moneyI stayed here in September 09 for 13 nights on a business trip and the room wasnt bad. The total cost for the room for 2 weeks was less than a lot of places (Holiday Inn/etc.) for 4-5 nights. The room was clean and not a bad size. The bed was comfy. There is a LOT of water pressure in the shower. My only complaint is the high speed internet was way over-priced, which can really add to the cost of the room. Ive stayed at many other places in Las Vegas, and this hotel puts you close to the action for a great price.
Travelers tip for business travelersBefore you get to Las Vegas, search for places with Free WiFi if you dont want to pay $10-$15 a day at the hotels.Rating:3
Just a place to sleepWe chose this hotel because it was the cheapest one available. It was just a place to sleep. We spent all of our time on the strip or at other hotels.Rating:4
Great Weekend for a WeddingOur Group of 13 stayed 3 nights at the Gold Coast and we were all treated very well. The buffet was one of the best and resonable. Housekeeping did us some favors in a very timley fashon. We will stay here again anytime.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayIn house there are 6 or six place to eat and also a gift shop for basic needs and snacks.Rating:2
Not ImpressedHotel is ageing and need updating.
Travelers tip on diningEl Cortez still a good place for dinner.Rating:3
Ok, but not greatWe tried the Gold Coast because of a midweek special. The rooms are a bit small and old. If you want multiple rooms, keep in mind that there are no connecting rooms. I would recommend it for a short stay (one night). The food options are good. There is a chinese dim sum that is excellent and also a Fridays. I thought the pool was a bit small but the workout facility was pretty decent. The pool and workout area are right next to each other which is convenient. The Sportsbook and gaming area werent bad. I felt comfortable playing there. There are excellent bowling specials offered at late hours.Rating:5
Great place to stayJust a few minutes off the strip - it is not a huge place like most of the places on the strip. It was more manageable walking from the entrance to our room. We were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast buffet is awesome - the food is fresh and plenty of variety.Rating:5
LAS VEGAS 09HOTEL WAS VERY NICE!!!Rating:4
Good Place to StayStayed here before. Premium room for a VERY reasonable price. Love the restaurants in the building. Will probably stay again.Rating:4
Gold Coast is still a gemI had the opportunity to stay in one of the renovated rooms. Liked is much better than the older rooms - the shower was fabulous! The room was clean and comfortable. Loved having the opportunity to make my own coffee. The only thing that would improve the room would be a mini fridge.Rating:5
Nice place to stay.I really liked this place. Very clean. Id stay there again. Employees were friendly & helpful. Cheap rates.Rating:4
Good hotel at cheap priceAll the basic necessities were met to more than our expectation.Rating:5
Wonderful Experience!I have been to Las Vegas more times than I can count but I have not been more comfortable or better taken care of! My room was immaculate and the hotel staff was excellent from check-in through check-out! The restaurants were extremely clean and accommodating! I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Las Vegas-I plan to stay there again.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayMake sure you check out the free shuttle bus!Rating:5
Best deal near the strip!I have been a fan of staying at the Gold Coast for a while. Now that they have remodeled some of the rooms Im a bigger fan! We stayed comfortably and cheap at the Gold Coast and walked across the street to the Rio and the Palms when we wanted to join the action. Pluses: Inexpensive! Clean, comfortable rooms (the premium rooms are worth the upgrade!) Close to the Rio and The Palms Cheap cab ride to the heart of the strip Cheap gaming, TGIF in house, half price appetizers 24/7. Decent pool and jacuzzi Cons: Older, mellow crowd (this may also be a plus) Not a "scene." This is definitely not the happening place to be in Vegas. You are not going to see lots of hot guys/girls at the pool :)
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayDefinitely go for the premium room. The older rooms feel like cheap hotel rooms. The upgraded rooms have plush top beds, dark wood trim throughout the room and most importantly the bathrooms are redone. A stand up shower with a glass partition instead of an old shower with a shower curtain :)Rating:4
Great economical choice off the strip close to the center of the strip. Will return soon!Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the Gold Coast. The location and price make it worth every cent and then some. The room upgrade to the contemporary look was worth it as the look of the older rooms felt more like Reno than Vegas. The service at check in and from room service to the cleaning staff exceeded my expectations and was very friendly and most useful. I found the bed to be a little uncomfortable and the sheets to be both a little dirty and not quite to my standard expectation for a hotel room. Food was great and well priced. Definitely enjoy half off Happy Hour in TGI Fridays located in the Casino which is actually every hour of the day as long as you are eating or drinking in the bar area. I will definitely go back and let people know about this little gem called the Gold Coast just off the strip.
Travelers tip on nightlifeLocated across the street from the Palms and its hot clubs makes for a great time and a short safe walk home. Only a short shuttle ride down Flamingo gets you to the center of the strip where you can cross the street to Ballys and grab a 73oz beer for $12 out front to start your night.Rating:4
Very nice and reasonably priced hotelReally enjoyed our stay. Great value for the price.Rating:5
ConvenientI always like staying here. It is off the Strip so I can avoid traffic tie ups. Also, its easy to get from the covered parking lot to the registration desk and the rooms; no need to walks miles and miles.Rating:2
not impressedask for room of two double beds, got one queen bed instead. customer service at the front desk are not friendlyRating:4
Gold Coast was GREATThis hotel was a GREAT place to stay. My boyfriend and I got a GREAT deal!!!!!! There was a free shuttle to the strip, so transportation was never a problem. I recommend it, for sure!Rating:4
Great Deal...We were really impressed with the room for the low price we paid, it was suppose to be upgraded, but we got the standard room. The bed and pillows were nice. TGIF was the best part..great food and service. The buffet was decent compared to most. It was nice to be able to walk over to Rio and the Palms. We will definitely go back.Rating:4
Very satisfiedThe beds were quite small. In a room with two beds, you need to have two queen size beds.Rating:4
Good value, great locationI stayed at the Gold Coast for six nights in September and was very pleased with the hotel. The location just off the Strip was perfect for me. I slept great, bed very comfortable. The pool area and fitness center were quiet, clean, and very nice when I visited. There was some corridor noise in the wee hours, but the only real annoyance was children racing up and down the hallway at 8 a.m. Otherwise, everything was great. I felt it was a really great value.Rating:2
disappointedbugs in room, loud noise from the street not to mention people screaming in the hall in the middle of the night.Rating:4
Good hotel for price!Hotel overall was great with restaurants right there for you to choose from and lots of machines to gamble at if youre into that. We were there to enjoy the strip and not gamble so we did not do all that much gambling.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayThe rooms were updated in the premium suite we stayed in and were very nice. It was a good room for the price and the shuttle service from the hotel to the strip was great. Not having to rent a taxi to get there saved alot of money.Rating:4
Comfortable hotel.Close to strip and Chinatown.Rating:5
Not impressedThe first room - the shower head broke because of too much water pressure, so we asked to be moved to another room on the 8th floor. Very reasonable price for a nice room.
